  Peripheral nerves

The focus is on nerve compression syndromes. This is a disorder which ranks as one of the most widespread disorders of the spinal cord. The most frequent compression syndromes of peripheral nerves are to be found in the wrist (carpal tunnel syndrome) and elbow (sulcus ulnaris syndrome). All operations on peripheral nerves are carried out on an outpatient basis with the patient returning to our practice a few days later for the removal of the stitches and check of the success of the operation.

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS): Endoscopic and open techniques are used depending on the findings.

  • Sulcus ulnaris syndrome (SUS): The nerve can only be released by means of an open operating technique. Depending on the findings, there are a
    variety of techniques available.
